Scafell Pike by sandy saunders
It was a very enjoyable final AW program on the walk up Scafell Pike, .... I think the last! (although I believe the Corridor Route is a far more enjoyable route) However, one thing intrigues me, and that is how there are differing ways of saying Scafell Pike. Last night, the presenter called...

Sedburgh Campsite? by [email protected]
Hi All, I thought I'd pop up to the Lakes for a few days and was looking at new hills to visit. I thought I'd have a look at the Howgills to the east of the M6 and at 'The Calf' and was looking for a campsite in the area. The Explorer map shows a caravan/campsite just on the east of the village,...

the celtic trail by Jeremy Watts
Has anyone here walked the 'Celtic Trail' ? I think it runs from Fishguard to Chepstow. Part of it runs through Neath (where I live), so I followed it today and ended up getting lost.... Well not lost as such but it brought me back to where I started. I began it at Llantwit cemetary following...

Britain's Highest Waterfall - Eas a'Chual Aluinn by Lindsay
Britain's Highest Waterfall - Eas a'Chual Aluinn 14 March 2007 The plan had been to climb the three Corbetts of Quinag but the weather forecast was for strong winds, rain and low cloud so this idea was abandoned. Instead I suggested to Steve, my client for the day, that a walk to the Eas...

Quieter walks in lakes in august! by JRS
I will be spending a fortnight there in the summer and are looking for a few walks in the region of 10 miles that are not covered in human ants! I like hills and views and don't mind tough walks. A pub en route would be nice. I will be based in the south. Any suggestions Thanks Jon

sun safety by [email protected]
Also, sun protective clothing is an option. I have been dressing my 2 daughters in this kind of clothing for several years now and we have never had a sunburn. I know of a few places where I have ordered them from and have had great experiences. Missy

Goodwood Circuit by sandy saunders
Bit of mixed weather today on the South Downs for my Sunday walk. Very windy and sunny at the start, rain halfway for a short while, then back to sunshine but hidden frequently by clouds. So, pleasant 9.5 mile circuit north from Counter's Gate car park, to the east of Good wood race course. ...
