Casio Digital Camera Extends Battery Life To 1,000 Shots by PeterC
Just seen this - battery looks good for a compact camera. Also has 24mm WA, 10x lens, image stabilisation (probably needs it!) and, possibly of greatest interest (if it works) "...an option to make weather-affected misty scenes look clearer and brighter..." (miracles...!). No idea what it's like...

June URW expedition by Martin Richardson
Are we still having one? Latest Marilyn news: Raw Head in Cheshire - looks like it is going to lose its Marilyn status. However, Mynydd y Cwm (SJ073767) in the Clwyd Hills looks like it is going to be promoted to being a Marilyn. So, now have a ticking reason to be there. Anyone else?

Ping Peter Clinch - longevity of sandals! by Peter Clinch
Gordon wrote: How long's a piece of string? :-) As GSV wrote, "it depends"... How long do you reckon your sandal soles to last before needing to be replaced? I have several pairs. There's my "best" Terra Fis which I only use up hills, which isn't actually /that/ often in terms of miles
