Finding speedos & accessories by
Shannon
Unforunately, not even those of us in the biggest cities enjoy a truly
comprehensive swim shop in town. I think you'll find your best
shopping through catalogs or online. You'll find all sorts of
affordable swimwear and accessories (including numerous styles of pull
buoys!) at any of these online...

New Pool Horror Story by
Monica Butler
What a nightmare!!
After reviewing several estimates, I selected Premier Pools and Spas
(Sacramento, CA) as the builder for my in-ground swimming pool. What
a big mistake! It was disappointment from day one of construction.
The sales staff, the job scheduling staff, and the construction...

cheap sunblock? by
Jim Morgan
I'm taking some exotic medicine which makes one super sensitive to
sunburn. I also swim outdoors, at noon mostly, in California.
Dermotologist told me to only use sunblock with Zinc Oxide or Titanium
Oxide. No-Ad 45 does the trick just fine, as does Hawaiian Tropic 45
(much more expensive...

Taper recommendations by
d
Hi,
I'm an 18 year old male, 6'2" and weigh 190 pounds. Have been
weightlifting 3 times a week along with 8 swim work outs a week. Have
a meet coming up in a few weeks that I need to taper for (going for
national times in 200IM, 200Fr and 100Fr).
What's a good taper for this? When should I...

Should These Records Stand? by
Martin W. Smith
They should acknowledge the girls as record holders using the old
times. They can't use the new times the girls did because they aren't
accurate, and because the next time the records are nearly broken there
would be a nagging doubt about whether the records would have been
broken had the times...

Achilles tendinitis by
Bill Roberto
About 4 years ago my wife wanted to run with me. At the time I was doing a
pretty fast 2 miler. Since she was just starting out she ran quite a bit
slower than I did. To get a work out I bought a 60lb weight vest. That way I
could run as slow as her, but still get a work out. As time progressed...
