weak kick - fins or not? by
Brian and Denise Pauley
Hi,
My kick sucks. I swim okay, but any part of the workout that is only
kicking, I might as well cut the distance in half so as to not run out of
time to do the rest of the workout. Not to mention how exhausted I am after
100 -150 yards of kickboard work. It's got to affect the rest of...

broad back with heart rate strap? by
ChronoFish
Just curious: Does anyone here, guys specifically, swim with a heart rate monitor?
I have a rather broad back which tapers - not quite a "dorito" back - but close - and the strap falls to my waist as soon as I push
off the wall.
Does anyone else have this problem? I would imagine women don't have...

Knowing when to rest by
ChronoFish
Here is something that I'm sure everyone fights with. Knowing when to rest. Because I'm self-serving I'm going to use myself as an
example.
I've had a pretty good week - about 13 sessions (mix of run, bike, swim, lifting, and core-strength) and a full rest day (zip,
nothing) over the last 8...

hills north of panama city beach? by
Andre
Hello again folks. We're starting to put together our training plan for our
Florida gulf coast tri \ camp. As I recall, you've got to go pretty far
north to hit any kind of hills. Any guidance \ links for this? I'm trying
to find a free topographic map of this area, but good...

How should I set up my aero bars? by
Michael Emerald
I put on some bolt-on Profiles (the carbon ones) and have been
experimenting with position on a trainer for a couple of months.
There are a lot of possibilities. This year will be my first
Triathlon, and I'll be ready for Olympic distance next year. I'm very
experienced cycling, riding 4000 miles...

Our return to 220 by
eccelove
Hi ecce, it's me.
Sorry to take so long to get your message. I only google 'Roger
Hunter' every now and then to see who's after me :-) As you've
guessed, I'm lots of other people too.
Y'think we should just dive back in, or should we develop a cunning
plan? I favour the latter, but we'd...

Anyone use Aqua Sphere WS? by
Carlton Whitmore
The Aqua Sphere wetsuits seem to be very low in price compared to other
brands I've seen. Has anyone used this brand? If so, what did you think?

Water bottle on handlebars? by
Carlton Whitmore
I'm training for my first Tri and I was wondering how many of you use the
large water bottle mounted to the handlebars? Does it create a lot of drag?
If so, is it worth it for the convenience?
thanks,
Carlton.

WTB: Wetsuit for 5' 9" 170lbs. by
Carlton Whitmore
I've entered the Capital of Texas Triathlon for May and need a cheap

Any one have an extra wetsuit they can spare?

Kestrel Talon vs Kestrel Talon SL by
Tracy
I'm in the market for a new bike. I'm training for Ironman Canada
2004 and a few shorter distance tris before that date. I did IMLP
last year on an old aluminum road bike and I managed quite well, but
now I'm ready to pay some cash for a good carbon fibre frame. I'm
5'4" and about 117lbs. I'm...

Race Report: Ironman New Zealand (long) by
IMKen
2004 Ironman New Zealand is history, a shadow in my memory not to be
forgotten easily.
I went there knowing that I was a bit soft compared to my 5 previous IM
races. I evaluated the known competition and in reality did predict that I
had a chance of being on the podium in second place behind...

1st time triath-online training?? by
ptcruuzinfl
After a couple years of "taking about it"..., I have decided to attempt my
first Sprint off-road triathlon this summer. I have raced some MTB in the
past (7-10 races from 2001-2002) and have always wanted to try this, so I am
biting the bullet and going for it. In any case I have a few basic...
