Biathlons in the UK by
I would like to do triathlons, but I am not too keen on the cycling, plus I don't have the cash for a bike. I have done a lot of half marathons, and my swimming is good. Is there such a thing as a bi athlon with swimming and running? Are there any inthe UK?

How do I improve my IM bike? by
Hello everyone, I did my first Ironman last July in Lake Placid, finishing in 13h40. I was actually really thrilled with that time (my goal was to finish before the cut-off at 17 hours), had a better than expected swim and a really, really great marathon. But the bike was a different story. I...

Need help with Speedplays by
I used to ride with Shimano SPDs for my triathlons. Loved the pedals and the cleats, no problems clipping in and out. However, I've developed a minor ITB problem and I found that on long rides the lack of float gave me serious hotspots in my feet. I did my research and switched to Speedplay...

fair price on this bike for total beginner? by 00000
I've been lurking for about a month- starting to train for my first tri, scheduled for the summer of 2005. New to the sport... hell, new to sports, period. I have an opportunity to purchase a Quintana Roo Special Edition with Shimano 105 components, decent pedals & aerobars. What's a fair...

training with foot injury by 3Hank
A few weeks ago I injured my right foot (ripped some tendons, broke a bone) and am therefore obliged to use crutches and a "walking boot" to fixate my ankle. But as I'm sure you understand it's very difficult to not train at all so I'm swimming with a pull-buoy but would like to do other exercises....

Race results by 3Hank
Does anyone know how to easily convert web-based race results into an Excell spreadsheet readable format or import it into Excell? I've send several emails trying to get race results also posted in Excell but nothing has changed yet. I enjoy doing post race number crunching and with a spreadsheet...

T2 question by @ cantri.ca
Hi all What are your thoughts about cadence prior to T2? I currently am at about 95/min during the bike portion. I have read one study online about this, that stated an increase of 20% in cadence would improve the run time. This was a small (N=20) study. I have also heard that one should slow...

Thyroid condition by A
Wondering if anyone else is competing with a thyroid condition. I've recently been diagnosed and have just been getting advice obviously geared toward only non- or recreational-athletes (like, drop carbs to 5-10% of your diet, etc), and am looking to talk to other high level triathletes to for some...

Race wheels - worth the money? by A. J.
I am considering a set of race wheels. Does anyone have any specific performance gains they would attribute directly to the wheels/tires? I would be hard pressed to think that a bit less drag from the wheels and a bit less weight could net more than a .1 or .2 MPH. When I blow by guys on ZIPPs...

Any reccomendations for road tires? by A. J.
I am looking for new road tires and have no idea how to sort through the 100 or so I see for sale. I am in need of a good set of all around tires. I train and race in a mostly dry location, ride on average to good roads, but have been having a lot of flats lately due to road debris. I am racing...

Weird Training Question by A. J.
What are your options for commuting to work via bike or run? Even if you dont have shower facilities, its amazing what a few baby wipes and a stick of deodorant can do. As for six hours of sleep, join the club. I have been working out between 10 and 12 hours a week, fairly steadily on 6-7 hours...
