Default Reebok TR4 treadmill

This is a solid treadmill . Although called a Reebok in the U.K it is
sold as a Smooth treadmill ( with minor modifications ) in the U.S. .
If you go to Smooth's website you can get a great deal more technical
information on the machine than from Reebok U.K.s website . It is over
engineered compared to other machines in its price range ( frame ,
rollers ) and even the Tunturi machines feel fragile compared to it .
The new TR4 is basically the " OLD " TR1 /TR2 machines with a 3 hp
continous duty motor . These machines didn't sell as well here in the
U.K. as in the U.S. because we live in rabbit hutches here and this
treadmill is BIG . So Reebok have recently introduced a NEW
lightweight TR range ( toys imo) . This TR4 however is the flagship
and based on the old heavyweight machine .
Unlike the troublesome Reebok RT1000 which the TR range replaced this
model is not made by ICON fitness . It was designed in the U.S and is
made by Greenmaster .( check out their website for more information .
The original TR1 was one of the best kept secrets as it sold in
Argos for around £800 and was a super heavyweight machine with a wide
20 inch belt ( and power fold ). They've basically added a few hundred
quid onto the price and upped the motor to 3HP ( not neccessary imo )
with the TR 4 you're looking at .
Don't let salesmen convince you you don't need a wide belt and sell
you a flimsy £2000 Tunturi with an 18 inch belt . The other plus of
buying it from Argos is you can get a 5 year warranty for around £ 50
.. Try going into John Lewis or any other major Dept store ( JJB etc )
and getting an extended warranty for the £2-3000 treadmills they sell
..
