I take it you will all be watching the beginning for tips on how to
tackle the slopes of Mungrisdale Common.

I'll have to rewind the video and take another look at those techniques
later. Not exactly standard moves were they?

Yes.. unlike the trailer face inwards on th tricky bit of the
ascent....

I did not watch the film - I never ever watch cut films, and Radio
Times has flagged up possible nanny cuts..

old codgerProblem these days is that computer generated graphics are
so realistic that it's well nigh impossible to know whether that was a
real route, on real rock, or whether the whole sequence is pure
fiction - and not just the climbing bits...;-)

What was it that the Monty Python team climbed? Was it the Old Kent
Road?

It was a tough one - finger-tip holds between paving flags, and the lay-
back up the gutter was quite gripping. :-)

Quite a drop into Princes Street Gardens for the unwary...;-)

Reminds me of a sage comment from Dean Martin: "You're not drunk if
